Register now!

Luminale has been held parallel to the Light+Building trade fair every two years for the last ten years. With 140,000 visitors at the last Luminale in 2010, it now holds an established international place as the Lighting Culture Biennale. Luminale is the evening programme for many of the 183,000 trade visitors to Light+Building and will next be held concurrently with Light+Building from 15 to 20 April 2012.

The combination of trade fair and city event transforms Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region into an unmatched meeting place revolving around the subject of lighting and brings together everyone from manufacturers to designers and artists. The evening lighting events represent a great opportunity to see and be seen – an opportunity that only occurs in this compact form every two years during Light+Building und Luminale. A shuttle bus service links the fair and the city.

Luminale is the platform for ideas and innovations focusing on lighting, energy efficiency, applications for new technologies and materials and on the quality of life in our cities. Taking part in Luminale is a proven tool for attracting the attention of the specialist world.

The deadline for submitting your project for Luminale is 30 September 2011. You will find the pre-registration forms here.

Luminale: "Must See" in the Creative Scene

For the sixth time the Lighting Culture Biennale takes place alongside the Light+Building trade fair. Luminale has become a firm part of the Light+calendar of events. It is as popular with trade fair visitors from around the globe as it is with the Frankfurt residents. Internationally it is a "must see" in the creative scene and is one of the strongest event "brands" in Frankfurt RheinMain.

Luminale proves, in combination with the Light+Building, that trade fairs can be far more than commercial events: they can also be family reunions for the industry and festivals with ideas that motivate and inspire. Luminale is one of the main contributing factors to the fact that participants and visitors from the architecture and electrics branch look forward to the "luminal" days and nights.

The programme with over 150 events is more international than ever. Designers and artists from Sydney to Milan and London see the Luminale as the appropriate place for their presentations and for "networking". And Luminale provides a platform for issues of energy saving and sustainable building: the PlusEnergieHaus at Rathenauplatz is a symbol for this.
