Location: Congress Center Messe Frankfurt / Hall 8.0 / Foyer Hall 11.0 North
Held in parallel with Light + Building – the world’s leading trade fair for architecture and technology – the Building Performance Congress offers the opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss themes relating to lighting and integrated building technology. Well-known experts from Germany and the international community will be giving presentations to illuminate the latest developments relating to the themes of Light + Building.
Highlights here will be the events in:
Organiser: LonMark International
Date: 17-18 April 2012
Location: Hall 11.0, Room Granat
Join LonMark International for two days of free educational seminars that examine market and technology trends, advancements involving interoperable systems, and their impact on the complete building envelope. Intelligent and integrated networks based on the European and International EN 14908 standard, allow the freedom of vendor selection enabling customized control solutions that result in exceptional energy, time and money savings. Industry experts will explore the industry trends and strategies as well as best practices and system integration success secrets. Sessions will address multi-system and multi-protocol integration, lighting control, energy efficiency and smart grid connectivity.

Organizer: Society of Light and Lighting, UK
Date: 16.04.2012
Location: Halle 3.Via West, Raum Facette
The Society of Light and Lighting presents an International Masterclass highlighting the wasted energy in existing building stock and exploring the huge benefits to be gained in refurbishment. This embraces all building types including retail and the Masterclass is aimed to highlight the problem, address the issues and provide solutions which can be transposed across each sector and size of application. The technical aspects will be addressed alongside issues such as the human impacts on wellbeing and the influence of design in reaching energy goals.
Organiser: Project Energy Saving Outdoor Lighting (ESOLi) c/o Berliner Energie Agentur GmbH in cooperation with the Regionalverband FrankfurtRheinMain (Regional Authority FrankfurtRheinMain)
Date: 17 April 2012
Location: Congress Center Messe Frankfurt, Level 3, Room Fantasie II
Saving on the electricity bill for outdoor lighting is possible: several new technologies allow an important reduction in electricity costs. The saving potential is enormous: if all public authorities in Europe switched to energy efficient “intelligent” systems, like adaptive street lighting and intelligent control, more than 60% of energy savings could be reached in the EU and as well as that, also the maintenance costs would be drastically reduced.
This saving potential can be realized only if concerns about the performance and reliability of new technologies, financial obstacles and lack of information can be overcome. In order to encourage the diffusion of new technologies, the European Commission has launched the ESOLi project (Energy Saving Outdoor Lighting) in the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe program. ESOLi offers information and advice to municipalities as well as interesting supporting tools regarding intelligent street lighting.
The international ESOLi conference, taking place on 17th April 2012 at the Light+Building fair in Frankfurt, will provide useful information about existing “intelligent” solutions for street lighting, showcasing several best practice examples of successfully realized lighting projects in different parts of Europe. The energy and cost saving potentials and other advantages of the implementation of smart technologies and control systems will be explained in detail, and last but not least also an interesting networking possibility will be presented to the participants.
The conference targets mainly local authorities, but it will provide interesting details also for ESCOs, energy agencies, street lighting companies, consultants, scientific organizations and other professionals involved in public lighting.
